Fulbright Canada Traditional Student Award

The Fulbright Canada Traditional Student Award gives American graduate students and early-career professionals the opportunity to study or conduct research at a Canadian university for the 2027-2028 academic year. Grantees receive USD 25,000 to support a semester or full academic year of study, research, or a combination of both at any accredited Canadian institution, in virtually any academic field. As part of the broader Canada-U.S. Fulbright Program, one of the world's most respected academic exchange initiatives since 1946, the award is designed to build mutual understanding between the two countries through residential academic exchange. Recipients benefit from a structured orientation, ongoing support from the Fulbright Canada secretariat in Ottawa, and lifelong membership in a global network of Fulbright alumni spanning government, academia, and industry. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, hold a relevant undergraduate degree, and identify a host institution and research or study plan in Canada as part of their application.
