Fact Checking Policy

The checks OpportunityNest uses before publishing scholarship, internship, fellowship, competition, grant, and exchange listings.

Pre-publication checks

Before publication, each opportunity is checked for provider identity, official application URL, deadline language, country or region, opportunity type, funding level, eligible applicants, and required documents where available. Listings with unclear or suspicious sources are excluded until the provider can be verified.

Deadline and funding review

Deadlines are treated conservatively because missed dates harm applicants. If an official page uses rolling, annual, or variable deadlines, the listing states that clearly instead of inventing a date. Funding labels are also reviewed carefully: fully funded, partially funded, paid, unpaid, stipend, and fee waiver are not interchangeable.

Human review

Automated scripts help structure pages and detect route issues, but editorial judgment is still required for source quality, wording, and applicant usefulness. Generated pages are reviewed for duplicate patterns, thin summaries, broken official links, missing metadata, and unclear application guidance.

Limitations

Opportunity providers can change rules without notice. OpportunityNest summarizes public information and cannot guarantee admission, funding, visa approval, or selection outcomes. Applicants should always confirm final details on the official provider website.
